On Sunday, in a local village of southern Afghanistan a U.S. soldier was accused of shooting four men, three women, and nine children.

How would you feel if a stranger came into your village and went on a shooting rampage?

Imagine a village in southern Afghanistan, depressed and mourning because they lost  close family members.

I think that the collaboration activity was a good way for us to learn how editiors and reporters work together. I think it was a good simulation of the relationship between the editors and reporters. I liked that our group was all able to work so good together. I think it would have been good to present our beats to the whole group so we could see what the final results would have been for our newspaper. I thought the small amount of time that we had was good because it was like we were real reporters on a deadline.

Looking at the different ways style and fashion is reported online, through magazines, and on television it all seemed to be focusing on one thing; how the celebrities were dressing. Online at Style.com it talks about what the celebrities wore to the latest fashion events. It had a main article on what was worn during London Fashion Week.
In magazines the focus is very similar. However, in magazines like Seventeen they focus on how people can create celebrity styles for a lot less. Seventeen magazine also talks about the style of stars on new television shows. They talk about behind the scenes for the shows characters and where they get their inspiration for them.
On television, the show Lives of Style focuses on the fashion shows that occur all around the world. It features the 'Best of the Best" runway fashion, style, beauty and lifestyle in the world. They also do many interviews with famous people in the fashion world.

Blog Assignment #2

After listening to all of the presentations during class I found out lots of interesting information on journalists. I thought sway Callaway had the most interesting career. He gets to interviews lots of famous people and learns about them and their lives. It was inspiring that he was part of the “Choose or Lose” campaign, which encouraged younger people to vote. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be a journalist because he started doing talk show hosting and rapping at a young age, which I think is inspiring.

If I could match any of the journalist’s careers I would choose Adam Richman. I would love to try all the different foods and rate them like he does. I think I would also enjoy traveling around the country trying to find exotic food.

           I would defiantly avoid having a career like Janet Cooke. She wrote a great article that won her the award yet it was totally made up. Because of this she ruined her journalist career and is currently unemployed. I would not want to ruin everything I had worked so hard for by writing one fake article. 

Blog Assignment #1

What am I expecting from this blog assignment? Honestly, I'm not really sure. I hope  that people will find what I'm blogging about interesting and look forward to reading my blog. The underlying theme of my blog will basically be how I feel about things going on around me. I'd have to say the fact that I'd enjoy reading about how  different people have different opinions on events is what inspired my blog theme.
